Winter Activity 2024

Do you want to build a snowman? Well, our kids certainly did! They had a blast at the Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter, a place that offers a small yet extensive range of interactive activities focused on all aspects of snow, from water flow to frost formation. The best part? The hands-on experience allowed our students to press buttons, catch crystals, and learn about wildlife. Not only did they have a great time, but they also developed social skills and engaged in interactive learning in a safe environment.

With fun learning tools and gadgets to play with, it was impossible not to tap into our inner child. The students loved pretending to be beavers building dams and exploring the wolves’ cave. They were amazed by the variety of snow types and had a fun time trying to pronounce their unique names.

The snow exhibition at the EcoCenter perfectly aligned with their mission to “explore how snow shapes and sustains life on Earth, its vital role in sustaining our water supply and cooling our planet, and its cultural and personal value.” It was a fun and educational experience that our students will always remember.

To conclude our winter day, we headed to Matt Knoop Memorial Park for a delicious lunch. With a decent amount of snow on the ground, our students were able to continue their snow experience in real time while enjoying their meals.
