Maple Lake Academy would like to Welcome the newest addition to the Education Department, Ms.Julie Smith! Julie is our new English teacher!

Julie Smith graduated from BYU, with degrees in English Teaching and History Teaching. Since then, she has taught public school and private school, but her favorite place to work is at residential centers like Maple Lake! Julie is married and has five kids. Her family has lived in Utah, Missouri, and Nevada. She loves to read, write, and travel – especially to historical sites. Some of the fun things she has done include walking up The Statue of Liberty and down The Washington Monument, sleeping over in a zoo, and camping in Alaska. She also interned in Washington DC when she was in college, and was an summer exchange student in Japan when she was in high school. She is super excited to work with the students at Maple Lake Academy!
